CERRO GORDO – Freshman Acee Campbell peppered the court with 17 service points to lead East Bladen to a 3-0 Three Rivers Conference volleyball victory over West Columbus Thursday night by set scores of 25-4, 25-13 and 25-21.
Acee Campbell served out the first set with 5 consecutive points then reeled off 9 straight service points to end the second set. She also added 2 kills and 3 digs. Junior Katie Evans fired in 9 service points, 3 aces and had 2 digs.
Senior Ruth Ward poured in 11 service points, 4 aces and had 2 digs for the winners. Senior Adrienne Howell knocked in 4 service points, 3 aces and had 5 digs. Senior Lila McDuffie slammed in 4 kills and 2 service points.
Junior Kayleigh Raynor sparked the East defense with 6 digs and added 3 service points and 2 kills. Junior Cheylee Mathis hammered in 4 kills, a block, a service point and had a dig.
Senior Cybil Campbell drilled in 3 service points, a kill and had 2 digs. Sophomore Alexus Mitchell finished with 3 digs and a service point, and senior Lorna Mendell tallied an ace and a service point.
Coach Sara Ward’s Lady Eagles raised their record to 5-6 in the Three Rivers and 5-10 overall.
