ELIZABETHTOWN – South Columbus defeated East Bladen 3-0 Wednesday night in Waccamaw Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-16.
Junior Mary Frances Sutton sparked the Lady Eagle attack with 3 kills, 2 aces, 12 attacks and had 1 assist. Junior Miriam DeVane slammed in 8 attacks, 3 kills and a block. Senior Karly Ross came up with 2 digs and an assist.
Senior Molly Evans smacked in 4 attacks, 2 kills and an ace for East. Junior Iveonna “NeNe” Ward knocked in 5 attacks, a kill and had 1 dig. Junior Mollie Tolar hammered in 4 attacks, a kill, a block and had 1 dig.
Senior Dyiamon Robinson collected 2 blocks for East. Junior Martha Simmons finished with 1 attack and 1 kill. Senior Zoe Smith smoked in an ace and had 1 assist.
The Lady Eagles, now 2-4 in Waccamaw play and 4-10 overall, will visit South Columbus Tuesday night for a rematch.
