BLADENBORO – West Bladen defeated East Bladen 3-1 on Thursday night in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-23, 25-13, 20-25 and 25-10.

Senior Mikayla Meadows blasted in 16 kills, 3 aces, 7 service points and had 10 digs to lead the winners. Junior Ashlyn Cox lit up the scoreboard with 18 service points and 7 aces and was credited with 8 assists and 6 digs.

Junior Sidnee Walters hammered in 10 kills, 2 solo blocks, 3 service points, 2 aces, dished out 9 assists and had 3 digs for West. Senior Lexi Corrothers pounded in 9 kills, 5 service points, an ace and had 2 digs.

Senior Jordan Benson sparked the Lady Knight defense with 19 digs. Junior Shelby Pharr slammed in 4 kills, 5 service points, an ace and had 3 digs. Junior Amelia Brisson tallied 5 service points, an ace and had 2 digs.

Freshman Acee Campbell filled up the stat sheet for East with 7 service points, 6 digs, 2 kills, 2 blocks and an ace. Teammate Sara Gargala tallied 8 service points, 2 kills, 2 digs and a block.

Senior Lorna Mendell pounded in 4 kills, 6 blocks and 4 service points for the Lady Eagles. Teammate Cheylee Mathis belted in 6 kills, 2 blocks and 3 service points. Junior Katie Evans contributed 6 digs, 3 service points, a kill and a block.

Senior Cybil Campbell paced the Lady Eagle defense with 7 digs and added 4 service points and a kill. Junior teammate Kayleigh Raynor fired in 4 service points, 2 kills, an ace and had 6 digs. Senior Ruth Ward finished with 6 digs and an ace.

Shanell McMillian knocked in 2 kills for East. Teammates Lila McDuffie and Abbie Cross collected 2 digs each. Sophmore Alexus Mitchell had a dig, and McDuffie had a service point.

Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights improved to 5-2 in league play and 7-2 overall and will host Whiteville on Monday. East Bladen will host Whiteville on Tuesday.
