BLADENBORO – West Bladen swept Fairmont 3-0 Tuesday in Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-17.
Senior Trinity Meares fired in 20 attacks, 3 kills and 10 service points including an ace for West. Freshman Greer Pope contributed 15 assists, 5 attacks, 2 kills, and 9 service points including an ace. Sophomore Emme Bryant tallied 2 service points and had 1 assist.
Lady Knight senior Keira Lewis battered the defense with 21 attacks, 5 kills, a block and 3 service points. Senior Maddie Walters knocked in 8 attacks, 3 kills and 6 service points including an ace. Junior Alina Chavez finished with 5 attacks and 2 digs.
Senior Jenna McLean slammed in 10 attacks, 3 kills and 7 service points including an ace for the winners. Junior Marlene Crabtree drilled in 11 attacks, 4 kills, 7 service points including an ace and had 1 dig. Junior Holland Davis knocked in 10 attacks, 3 kills, a block and had 1 dig. Jaylyn Clark had 2 digs.
Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights evened their SAC-6 record at 2-2 and improved to 7-9 overall. West Bladen will travel to Red Springs Thursday.
