BLADENBORO –West Bladen edged Lakewood 25-22 and 26-24 in their 1st 2 sets Thursday night then pulled away with a 25-12 win in the final set to claim a 3-0 non-conference victory.
Senior Jenna McLean sparked the Lady Knight offense with 11 assists, 10 service points, 9 attacks, 2 kills and a dig. Junior Marlene Crabtree poured in 15 service points including 2 aces, 17 attacks, 7 kills and a dig. Senior Trinity Meares battered the defense with 21 attacks, 7 kills, 3 service points, a block and a dig.
Lady Knight freshman Greer Pope knocked in 12 service points including an ace, 17 attacks, 6 kills, distributed 6 assists and had a dig. Senior Maddie Walters banged in 17 attacks, 5 kills, a block, an ace and 2 other service points. Junior Alina Chavez pounded in 2 attacks and 2 kills.
Senior Kiera Lewis blasted in 15 attacks, 4 kills, 2 blocks and 4 service points for the winners. Sophomore Emme Bryant smacked in 2 service points, an attack and a dig. Junior Marlie Walters added 1 attack and a kill. Sophomore Jaylyn Clark had 1 attack.
Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights improved to 4-6 overall and will travel to Heide Trask Monday night.
