RED SPRINGS – Freshman Greer Pope blistered the court with 23 service points and dished out 17 assists to lead West Bladen to a 3-0 Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Red Springs by set scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-20.
Pope tallied 3 aces among her service points. Senior Keira Lewis pounded in 16 attacks, 10 kills, 3 blocks and a service point. Junior Marlene Crabtree battered the net with 11 attacks, 10 service points including 3 aces and a kill.
West senior Maddie Walters slammed in 16 attacks, 4 kills and 3 service points. Senior Jenna McLean smashed in 10 attacks, 2 kills and 4 service points. Junior Marlie Walters hammered in 11 attacks, 3 kills and a service point. Junior Alina Chavis knocked in 6 attacks and 2 kills.
Senior Trinity Meares contributed 4 attacks, a kill and a dig for the Lady Knights. Junior Holland Davis drilled in 6 attacks, 3 kills and an ace. Sophomore Emme Bryant collected 4 digs, 3 attacks and 2 service points. Jaylyn Clark chipped in with an attack and a kill.
Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights raised their record to 3-2 in SAC-6 play and 8-9 overall. West Bladen will travel to Clinton Tuesday night.
