Sunday AM wind chillsThe winter weather advisory that is in effect for Bladen County is now expected to expire at 1 p.m. according to the National Weather Service office in Wilmington.

A low pressure area moving across southern South Carolina will turn to the northeast early this morning and quickly move to the northeast of our area by late in the day. With cold air in place there is an threat of a trace amounts of freezing rain or sleet this morning,” said Reid Hawkins of the National Weather Service. 

This weekend will bring the coldest temperatures of the winter to our area. Lows are expected to dip into the teens inland and into the upper 20s along the coast. Wind chill values are forecast to reach single digits by Sunday morning. High temperatures on Sunday are expected to reach the mid to upper 30s.
