There is excitement in the air as business owners, residents and town officials are gearing up for the 39th annual White Lake Water Festival. The annual event is set to take place this weekend with plenty for everyone to see and do.

The weekend kicks off on Friday evening with a Classic Car Cruise in at 6:30 p.m. and a street dance featuring the Southern Touch band from 7 until 9 p.m. at Goldston’s Beach.

The Bladen County Firefighters Association Honor Guard will hold a pancake plate sale at the White Lake Fire Department from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday. Cost is $5.

On  Saturday, the annual White Lake Water Festival parade will begin at 10 a.m. Mike Minter will be the 2017 Grand Marshall of the parade. Minter is the Head Coach at Campbell University. There will be a meet and greet with Coach Minter following the parade at 1 p.m.

There will be a Classic Car Show held on US 701 across from the Scotchman. Registration for the car show is from 8 a.m. until noon. Cost to enter is $20 per car and judging begins at noon. Also, at the US 701 location, there will be a lawn mower pull and antique tractors will also be on display.

White Lake Fire Department will hold their annual Barbecue Plate Sale beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday. The department has given a special thank you to Smithfield and Rhonda Campbell for assisting with donations from Smithfield.

The lake stage and the main stage will host a variety of entertainment groups. There will be vendors, a wrestling arena and more throughout the day on Saturday.

Also on tap this year at the festival is a “Beer Garden” under the main tent in effort to raise money for additional events to next year’s White Lake Water Festival. You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase tickets for an alcoholic beverage.

Saturday evening The Venue will host a dance with DJ Brian Evans. For more information view the brochure:
