GOLDSBORO – Bladen County Recreation’s 10-Under Boys All-Stars won 2 of their first 3 games in the StateWide Activities Committee (SWAC) State Soccer Tournament Saturday.
Alejandro Lopez recorded a ‘Hat Trick’ plus one by scoring 4 goals in Bladen County’s 5-1 victory over South Granville in their tourney opener. Walker Clifton knocked in the other goal for the winners.
Lopez and Easton Bostic fired in 2 goals each as Bladen County rolled to a 9-1 victory over Tarboro in their second game. Levi Garcia, Wilson Clifton, Damian Sanchez, Jaylen Smith and Fox Sutton scored one goal each for Bladen County.
Fuquay-Varina outscored Bladen County 7-4 in Bladen’s final game of the day. Lopez and Garcia drilled in 2 goals each for Bladen County.
Bladen County will play Rocky Mount on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. in their final game of pool play. A win would propel the Bladen team into medal round play that begins at 2:15 p.m.
