FUQUAY-VARINA – The Bladen County 14-and-Under Girls All-Stars will open play Saturday in the State-Wide Activities Committee (SWAC) state soccer tournament at Fleming Park. The park is located at 503 Fleming Loop Road in Fuquay-Varina.
Bladen County opens play at 2:15 p.m. Saturday against the host Fuquay-Varina team. At 5:45 p.m. Saturday Bladen County will battle Nash County. The two lower finishers in round-robin play will play Sunday at 10:45 a.m. The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Coaches for the Bladen 14U Girls All-Stars are Dom Whittington, Iliana Sarmiento-Raynor and Victoria Sullivan. Team members are: Lluvia Sanchez Orellana, Savannah Owenby, Rylie Dowless, Isabella Beard, Chloe Merritt, Maylin McMichael, Brookelynn Sullivan, Rut Velasco Garcia, Gabriela Ventura, Rylie Sierra, Kenley Parks, Julia Flowers, Avianna Whittington, Matilda Kinlaw and Ava Allen.
