Here are results from Monday’s games at Bladen County Park in the Bladen County Recreation Department’s youth football leagues.
7-9 Tackle League: Hurricanes 26, Tigers 6
Timothy Cain ran for over 100 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Hurricanes to a 26-6 7-9 Tackle League football victory over the Tigers.
Cain opened the scoring with an 8-yard touchdown run. Graylon Robbins took a swing pass from DeVance Tatum into the end zone for the conversion and a 7-0 Hurricane lead.
Henry Simmons caught a pass in the left flat from Tommy Metz and raced 57 yards for a Tiger touchdown that sliced the Hurricane lead to 7-6.
Cain broke loose again with a 50-yard touchdown run. Isaiah Lloyd banged into the end zone for the conversion that grew the Hurricane lead to 14-6.
Cain dashed 40 yards for a third quarter touchdown then closed out the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown run.
The Hurricanes raised their league-leading record to 4-0.
10-12 Tackle League: Gators 6 Crimson Tide 0
Chris Cromartie snapped a scoreless tie with a fourth quarter touchdown that lifted the Gators to a 6-0 10-12 Tackle League football victory over the Crimson Tide.
Cromartie raced around right end and sped down the sideline on a 40-yard run for the game’s only touchdown.
The Gators remained unbeaten at 5-0, while the Crimson Tide dropped to 1-3.
