BURGAW – Pender pulled away in the second half to defeat East Bladen 88-57 in Four County Conference boys basketball action Tuesday night.

Senior Eian Hines fired in five first quarter baskets to keep the Eagles within 19-15 at the quarter break.  Sophmore Adonis Avery added a basket and a free throw in the quarter.

Eian Hines canned 2 free throws and another basket in the second period, and teammates Demetrius Wooten and Denzel Johnson bombed in 3–point shots in the quarter. However guard Jarious Williams pumped in 9 points and Cameron Kea added 6 points as the Patriots built a 39-26 halftime lead.

East Bladen’s Sadrique Ingram and Joshua McKoy nailed 3-point shots in the third quarter, but the Patriots stretched their lead to 61-38.

Avery scored 6 of his 11 points for East Bladen in the final period. Freshman Majuan McKoy tossed in 4 points in the quarter for the Eagles.  Eian Hines topped the Eagle scoring with 20 points, and Demetrius Wooten finished with 7 points.

Williams led Pender with 16 points, and Robert Walker threw in 11 of his 14 points in the final period. Kea followed with 11 points, and Justin Hooper added 10.

East Bladen will host Heide Trask Wednesday night.
