BLADENBORO – Seniors Shiquan Conyers and Traquan Bellamy combined for 14 points in the final quarter as South Columbus held on to a 61-57 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over West Bladen Tuesday night.

The Stallions took a 41-40 lead into the final period, and Conyers cashed in 5 free throws and a basket, and Bellamy netted a pair of baskets and 3 free throws to preserve the victory.

Boykin rallied the Knights with 3 free throws and a basket in the fourth quarter. Seniors Jaheim Lesane and Keshawn Lewis buried 3-point shots, and senior Kerron Washington, junior Trashawn Ballard and sophmore Shyron Adams threw in a basket each.

Conyers led the Stallions with 18 points. Bellamy followed with 15 points, and junior Rajon Graham finished with 12 points.

Boykin racked up a game-high 19 points for the Knights. Lewis finished with 14 points, Adams followed with 7 points and Lesane totaled 6 points.

Cameron Etheridge sparked the Stallions to an 18-12 lead with 7 first period points, and Graham contributed 5 points. Boykin canned a basket and a free throw in the quarter for West. Lewis and Lesane sank 2 free throws each, Washington hurled in a basket, and Ballard hit a free throw.

Adams and Lewis drilled in a 3-point shot and a 2-point basket each in the second quarter. Boykin pumped in a basket and a free throw, junior Nijeah McKoy dropped in a basket, and Lesane made a free throw as the Knights trimmed the lead to 29-28 at halftime.

Boykin drained a pair of 3-point shots and another basket in the third period. Lewis fired in a pair of baskets to keep West within 41-40 at the quarter break.

West Bladen will host county rival East Bladen Friday night.
