CLINTON — West Bladen’s Knights didn’t shoot the ball well Tuesday night in a 33-25 win at Red Springs. Friday night those shooting woes seemed to be cured as the Knights shot 61% from the field in a 69-31 Southeastern Athletic Conference boys’ basketball win over Clinton.

It was the 15th straight win for Coach Travis Pait’s Knights who remained unbeaten in the SAC (6-0) and improved to 17-1 overall. West Bladen will host Midway Tuesday night.

The Knights connected on 26 of 42 shots from the field and were 9-for-15 from 3-point range. West Bladen outrebounded the Dark Horses 27-11 and passed out 16 assists. The only slight blemish was an 8-for-18 performance at the foul line.

Sophomore Jackson Pait drained 5 of his 8 3-point shots to lead the Knights with 17 points. Junior Hezekiah Adams just missed a double-double with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Junior Chase Williams dropped in 5 of his 7 shots and added 6 free throws for 16 points. The 6-7 center dished out 6 assists, blocked 4 shots and snared 3 rebounds.

Freshman Kendell Lessane connected on 4 of his 6 shots from the field to finish with 9 points. Sophomore Tylik McCall contributed 7 points and 4 rebounds. Senior Andre Moore handed out 4 assists and had 2 steals. Junior Ty’Leak Ballard grabbed 5 rebounds.

Pait blistered the nets with a trio of 3-point shots to start the game, and Williams sank 4 free throws and a basket as West built a 15-11 lead. Ny’Darion Blackwell and Walker Spell rang up 3-point baskets to keep Clinton close.

Pait continued his long-range assault with a pair of 3-balls in the 2nd period. Adams drilled in a 3-point shot and 2 free throws. McCall tossed in 2 baskets, and Lessane and Williams pumped in a basket each as a 19-8 surge pushed the Knight lead to 34-19 at halftime.

Williams worked the paint for 3 baskets and 2 free throws in the 3rd quarter. Adams nailed a 3-point shot and netted 2 other baskets, and Pait and Lessane added baskets as the West lead grew to 53-25.

Lessane bombed in a 3-ball and another basket in the final period. McCall knocked down a 3-pointer. Adams popped in a pair of baskets, and junior Conner Monroe and Ballard threw in a basket each.

Blackwell and Holden Spell led the Clinton scoring with 8 points each.
