Elizabethtown, NC – Southeastern Carolina Crossroads (SCC), a ministry dedicated to helping men struggling with substance abuse, will host its first annual gala on April 18, 2024, at 6 pm. The event will be held at the Gallery Ballroom of Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery. The event will feature a plated dinner, musical talents from the band, Redeemed of Sunset Beach, NC, a silent auction, a moving art memorial exhibit, and testimonies from the residents at SCC.
“We are thrilled to host this event and bring together our community to support our mission,” said Timothy McDowell, Executive Chef of Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery. “This year’s gala promises to be an unforgettable evening that will raise awareness for the dedication of SCC and help them continue to provide life-changing services to men in need.”
The keynote speaker will be Kathryn Bausman, Executive Director of City Mission in Findlay, Ohio. Kathryn is an experienced leader in the field of addiction recovery. She has served in church, missions, and addiction recovery ministries for 20 years. Kathryn studied business at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, and received her ordination through Bethany Theological Seminary, Academy for Ministerial Leadership in Richmond, IN. Kathryn has been part of the healing journey for hundreds of people with an addiction looking to live lives of recovery through Jesus Christ.
Redeemed of Sunset Beach is a talented band known for their uplifting and soulful music. Their performance is sure to lift spirits and add to the festive atmosphere. As a teen lead singer, Travis Thompson’s dream was to be the frontman of his rock band. God had other plans. Now married with two children, Travis’s dreams have changed. He currently writes music that glorifies God and reminds us to stay humble and thankful for His never-failing mercy and grace. His music aims always to focus attention on God, the Creator.
In addition to the entertainment and speaker, attendees may participate in the silent auction, visit the moving art memorial exhibit, and hear the testimonies of the SCC residents.
