East Bladen Coach Robby Priest was recently named Three Rivers Conference Football Co-Coach of the Year. Also named Co-Coaches of the Year were two more coaches with Bladen County ties – South Columbus’ Russell Dove and Whiteville’s Luke Little.

Coach Priest led the Eagles to a 12-2 record and to the NCHSAA Class 2A Eastern Semi-final game. After a one-point loss to South Columbus in September, the Eagles reeled off nine straight wins before falling in the Eastern semi-finals.

In the last five years, Priest has led the Eagles to a 47-18 record and into at least the second round of the play-offs. East Bladen reached the Eastern semi-finals in both 2016 and 2017.

Coach Dove, a Bladen County native and former West Bladen football coach, coached South Columbus to a 12-2 record and into the Western semi-finals. In his two years at the helm of the Stallions, Dove’s teams have posted a 24-5 record and have reached the 2016 Eastern Finals and 2017 Western Semi-finals.

Coach Little’s father Mark is a Bladen County native. Luke Little’s Wolfpack compiled an 11-2 record this season and tied East Bladen and South Columbus for the Three Rivers Conference championship. Whiteville was eliminated in the second round of the play-offs.
