So many games, so few screens. Heck, a TV and two computer screens weren’t enough Saturday. As late broadcaster Jack Buck once proclaimed, “I don’t believe what I just saw!”

For this spud, Saturday was certainly no dud. Here are a few highlights:

• Tennessee outscores Alabama 52-49, winning on Chase McGrath’s wobbly, low 40-yard field goal as time expired. It was a game that kept you on the edge of your seat all afternoon.

• Drake Maye connected with Antoine Green with 16 seconds remaining to give North Carolina a 38-35 win against Duke. The play survived a video review. Did Green step out of bounds before catching the ball? Depends on which shade of blue you wear.

• In Greenville, Holton Ahlers’ two-point conversion pass to C.J. Johnson in the fourth overtime lifted East Carolina to a 47-45 triumph against Memphis.

• Quarterback Cameron Rising scored with 48 seconds left, then ran the two-point conversion that gave Utah a 43-42 win against Southern Cal.

• In baseball, Jeremy Pena homered in the top of the 18th inning for the lone run in Houston’s win against Seattle. Cleveland rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Yankees 6-5 and push the Bronx Bombers to the brink of elimination.

There were probably several other exciting games Saturday, but can’t watch them all.

Which was your favorite? Ready for more today?

• It’s reported the Carolina Panthers are listening to offers for running back Christian McCaffrey. Don’t blame them. This season is shot. Wasn’t expecting the Panthers to make the playoffs, but never thought the season would be this bad.

• The three National League teams that won more than 100 games have been eliminated from the Major League Baseball playoffs. Philadelphia beat two, ousting the 101-win New York Mets in the wild-card round before beating the 101-win Atlanta Braves in the division series. Saturday night, the 89-win San Diego Padres rallied to eliminate the 111-win Los Angeles Dodgers.

• Interesting to note that Houston is the only team that had a first-round bye to advance to the league championship series, although the New York Yankees could join them. Makes you wonder if there’s rumblings for another team to be added to the playoffs to eliminate byes. Baseball isn’t meant to have five or six days off.

SUNDAY’S PICK TO CLICK

Gerrit Cole was paid a lot of money to pitch for the New York Yankees. He’ll show why in pitching into the 7th inning, allowing a solo home run and striking out 10 against Cleveland.

SATURDAY’S PICK: Drake Maye passes for three touchdowns and 250 yards and also runs for a score as North Carolina beats Duke at Wallace Wade Stadium. RESULTS: Maye completed 28 of 38 passes for 380 yards and 3 touchdowns. He ran for 70 yards, but didn’t score in the Tar Heels’ 38-35 victory.

TODAY IN SPORTS HISTORY
