Dixie Youth BaseballTABOR CITY – Whiteville defeated Bladen County 17-2 Monday night in the District 2 Dixie Youth Baseball AAA (Minors) Tournament.

“They hit the baseball pretty good,” said Bladen County Coach Joseph Russ. “We just hit it right at them. Could not catch a break. I really don’t feel like the score represented how we played.”

Jonah Bryan led off the fourth inning with a hit, and Emmanuel  Drew knocked him in with a single.

Hezikiah Adams walked in the Bladen fifth inning. Cade Allen walloped a triple to drive in Adams, but Allen was thrown out at the plate.

Conner Monroe batted 2-2 to lead the Bladen hitters. Will Durden hammered a triple and finished 2-3 at the plate. Allen slammed a triple, and Aiden Russ, Bryan, Richard Severine, Jr. and Drew connected for one hit each.
