Dixie Youth BaseballLUMBERTON- Elizabethtown advanced to the championship game of the Dixie Youth Baseball District 9 AA (Coach-Pitch) Tournament with a 19-8 victory over Lumberton National at Northeast Park.

Elizabethtown is the only remaining unbeaten team in the tournament and will play once-beaten West Robeson American Tuesday at 6 p.m. If West Robeson wins that game, the two teams will play a final game for the title Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Zach Sholar and Tyler Lewis led off the Elizabethtown first inning with singles to left-centerfield. Davion Lewis reached base on an infield hit to load the bases. Dawson Wright hammered a double to left field that cleared the bases.

Mason Smith beat out an infield hit, and Ryan Dove raked a single to left that scored Wright. Colton Daly reached base on an infield hit, before Jake Gooden yanked a single to left that scored Smith and Dove.

Easton Bostic reached base on an infield hit, and C. J. McCracken laced a single to left-centerfield that scored Daly with the seventh run of the inning.

Ahmarie White cracked a single to centerfield to start the second inning but was forced out at second on Robinson’s fielder’s choice. Sholar followed with a single, and Tyler Lewis drove in Robinson with a single.

Wright slammed a double to left that scored Sholar and Tyler Lewis. Smith and Dove reached base on infield hits as Wright scored. Daly pulled a single to rightfield that drove in Smith. Gooden swatted a single to left that scored Daly.

The winners closed out their scoring with 6 runs in the third inning after two were out. Sholar smashed a double to right, and Tyler Lewis and Davion Lewis reached on infield hits as Sholar scored.

Wright connected for a single to left that scored Tyler Lewis, and Dove smoked a triple to left-centerfield that cleaned the bases as Davion Lewis, Wright and Smith all scored.

Wright batted a perfect 3-3 with 2 doubles, 6 runs batted in and 3 runs scored. Dove also finished 3-3 with a triple, 4 rbi’s and 2 runs scored. Sholar was also 3-3 with a double, 3 runs scored and an rbi.

Tyler Lewis batted 3-3 with an rbi and 3 runs scored. Smith finished 3-3 at the plate with 3 runs scored. Gooden batted a perfect 2-2 with 3 rbi’s. Daly was 2-3 with an rbi and a run scored.

Davion Lewis batted 2-3 with an rbi and 2 runs scored. Bostic, McCracken, White and Robinson added one hit each. Robinson scored twice, and McCracken drove in a run.
