Elizabethtown_Majors_All_StarsELIZABETHTOWN – Raymond Autry and Ty Mathis walloped 3-run home runs to lead Elizabethtown to an 8-1 victory over West Robeson American Monday night in the Dixie Youth Baseball District 9 Majors Tournament.

Elizabethtown advances to Tuesday night’s championship game against West Robeson National. Game time is 6:30.

Garrett Melvin smashed a double, and Freddy Wooten drew a one-out walk in the Elizabethtown first inning, before Autry crushed his home run over the outfield fence for a 3-0 lead.

In the second inning, Garrison Tatum walked, and Ayden Piland reached base on an error. Coleman Tatum knocked in Garrison Tatum with a single that stretched the Elizabethtown lead to 4-0.

Melvin cracked a single in the third inning, and Wooten belted a single to drive in Melvin. Autry smacked a single, and Mathis blasted his 3-run homer that scored Wooten and Autry and pushed the lead to 8-0.

West Robeson scored a run on a fifth-inning home run.

Autry, Wooten and Mathis combined to pitch a 3-hitter and strike-out 7 batters. Autry struck out 5 and gave up one hit in his scoreless 3 innings.

Wooten fanned 2 batters and gave up the home run in his 2 innings of work, and Mathis pitched a scoreless sixth inning, giving up one hit.

Autry batted 2-2 with the 3-run homer and scored twice. Melvin finished 2-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored. Mathis slugged the 3-run homer, and Wooten, Coleman Tatum and Mahki Cromartie added one hit each.

Wooten and Coleman Tatum drove in one run each. Wooten scored 2 runs, and Garrison Tatum scored one.
