ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen’s Eagles edged South Columbus 2-1 Thursday night in the first game of their Dixie Pre-Majors Baseball double-header, but the Stallions rallied for a 3-1 victory in the nightcap.

Devan Stocks pitched the first four innings to pick up the win in the opener. Xavier Wooten closed out the game with an inning of relief and was credited with the save.

Sincere Smith and Kyle Tatum connected for one hit each in the first game for the Eagles. Smith and Tatum stole 2 bases each in the opener, and Wooten stole one base. Wooten and Stocks also laid down sacrifice bunts in the first game.

Wooten started the second game and worked 2 innings on the hill, before Spencer Scott relieved and pitched the final 3 innings.

Wooten blasted a triple in the second game, and Tatum and Ty Watkins belted one single each. Tatum and Smith stole 2 bases each in the second game, and Wooten stole one.

Coach Ritchie Priest’s Eagles are now 3-1-2 on the season and will host West Bladen Monday at 6 p.m.
