LUMBERTON – Lefthander Ian Sykes pitched a no-hitter as West Bladen blanked Lumberton 3-0 Monday night in the second game of a Dixie Pre-Majors double-header after Lumberton won the first game 7-3.

The Knights took a 1-0 lead in the nightcap as Caleb Sholar walked then raced home from second base on an errant pick-off throw.

A throwing error on Dalton Pait’s infield hit scored the second West Bladen run. Trent West knocked in the third run with a single to rightfield.

Six unearned runs in the third inning carried the Pirates to victory in the opener.

Jonathan Robinson blasted a 2-run double to lead the Knight hitters in the opener. West started on the mound for West Bladen but was relieved by Trey Storms in the second inning.

The Knights will host East Columbus Thursday in another double-header.
