RIEGELWOOD – Whiteville defeated Elizabethtown 11-2 Tuesday night in the championship game of the Dixie Youth Baseball District 2 AAA (Minors) Supplemental Tournament. Elizabethtown finished second in the tournament.

Elizabethtown scored a first inning run when Omar Powell walked, and DeVance Tatum knocked him in with a single.

Whiteville scored twice in the bottom of the first to take a 2-1 lead. Jamari Peterson belted a 2-out single in the Elizabethtown second inning and scored to tie the score 2-2.

Whiteville pulled away with six runs in the third inning and tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning.

Tatum, Peterson and Jace Butler finished with one hit each for Elizabethtown. Powell and Peterson scored one run each.
