The East Bladen Eagles are seeded 14th and will host Washington on Saturday in the opening round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2-A East playoffs.

The best 3-of-5 sets match is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside the school gymnasium. Admission will be $7.

East Bladen finished the regular season with a 12-6 record, which included a 9-3 mark and second place finish in the Southeastern Athletic Conference.

Washington, the No. 19 seed in the East, finished third in the Eastern Plains 2-A Conference with a 9-4 record behind Farmville Central and Ayden-Grifton. The Pam Pack is 13-9 overall.

The winner of Saturday’s match will play Tuesday in the second round against the winner between No. 3 seed and Eastern Plains champion Farmville Central (18-3) and No. 30 seed East Carteret (9-11). The match will be played at the home of the higher seed.

Three other Southeastern Athletic Conference teams qualified for postseason play. Midway (22-0) is the top seed in the East and will host No. 32 West Craven. No. 20 Clinton will play at No. 11 Wallace-Rose Hill. No. 25 St. Pauls will play at No. 8 Nash Central.

Waccamaw Conference champion Whiteville is seeded No. 4 and will host No. 29 Hertford County in Tuesday’s opening round. No. 15 South Columbus will be host against No. 18 North Lenoir.

The state championship match is scheduled to be played No. 5 inside Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of N.C. State University in Raleigh.
