HENDERSON – East Bladen junior Iveonna “NeNe” Ward flipped in a short jumper for the Lady Eagles 1st basket of the game Tuesday night and with that basket scored the 1,000th point of her East Bladen career.

Ward joined junior teammate Laila Smith who scored her 1,000th career point on February 23rd in the Waccamaw Conference Tournament championship game.

Tuesday night Ward poured in 24 more points to finish with 26 points and lead East Bladen to a 76-44 victory over Vance Charter in the 3rd round of the NCHSAA Class 1A Girls Basketball Playoffs. The victory advances Ward and the Lady Eagles to a 4th round game Friday at No. 1 East seed Falls Lake Academy.
