Jackson Smith knocked in the winning run with a fifth inning double as the Twins edged the Cardinals 5-4 Monday night in Elizabethtown Minor League action.

Torrean Cogdell slammed a double to begin the Twins fifth inning and eventually scored the tying run. Isaiah Lee scored the go-ahead run on the Smith double.

The Cardinals grabbed a 1-0 first inning lead when Jake Gooden ripped a hit that scored Jayce Hatcher.

Joey Dowless and Jamari Peterson drew walks in the Twins second inning and both raced home when DeMonta Richardson slammed a double for a 2-1 lead.

Cogdell scored a third inning run for the Twins when Smith clubbed his first double of the game.

Finesse Shipman and Easton Bostic scored third inning runs for the Cardinals. Gooden walked to force in a run, and Joshua Dawson drove in the other run as the teams pulled even at 3-3.

Hatcher walked and scored the final Cardinal run in the fifth inning.

Smith batted 2-2 with 2 doubles and 2 runs batted in to lead the Twin hitters. Cogdell finished 2-3 at the plate with a double and 2 runs scored. Teammate Collin Cole walloped a triple. Richardson added the 2-run double.
