ROCKY MOUNT – Twin brothers Farrell and Larrell Murchison led Louisburg’s unbeaten Hurricanes to a 71-12 rout of the NC Wesleyan junior varsity football squad on Sunday, October 2.
Farrell Murchison carried the ball 15 times for a team-high 142 yards. Although he didn’t score in the game, Farrell broke loose for runs of 18, 21, 14 and 17 yards.
Larrell Murchison finished with 4 tackles – 3 solo. Those 3 solo tackles included 2 sacks. One of the sacks was for a 15-yard loss and resulted in a fumble that was recovered by the Hurricanes at the Wesleyan 6-hardline to set up Louisburg’s second touchdown of the game.
The Hurricanes game against the Methodist jayvees was cancelled Sunday due to Hurricane Matthew. Louisburg, now 6-0, will play Saturday at the Apprentice School in Newport News, VA
