A pass interception by East Bladen junior Tim McLean gave the Eagles possession at the Eagle 43 yardline. “I was pleased with the way we started,” said Eagle Coach Robby Priest. “It is not hard to get them pumped up for this game. They know a lot of the guys they are playing against. There is some junk-talking going back and forth, but they are ready to play.”

Autry finished with 86 yards rushing and a touchdown. Brooks added 46 yards rushing and a touchdown. Meares completed 4 of 7 passes for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns. McKoy caught 2 passes for 50 yards and a touchdown. McDowell had the 35-yard TD reception.

“We have a lot of stuff to clean up,” said Knight Coach Jon Sherman. “We started the year with 51 players and now we are down to 35. We lost our starting middle linebacker this week to injury. We have a lot of work to do. Offensively we just keep shooting ourselves in the foot with mistakes – penalties, fumbles, missed assignments.”

The Eagles finished the season with a 5-2 record. “We were the only team in the conference to play all 7 games,” said Priest. “Our kids made a lot of individual sacrifices to accomplish that.”
