Montgomery rushed 10 times for 165 yards including a 14-yard run for the game’s 1st touchdown. He returned an Eagle punt 70 yards for the 3rd Wallace touchdown and threw a 34-yard TD pass to Kaymond Farrior in the 2nd quarter.

Senior Kanye Farrior galloped 36 yards for the 2nd Bulldog touchdown, and Farrior scored from 2 yards out as Wallace took a 28-0 lead at the quarter break.

The Eagles covered 65 yards in only 4 plays to begin the 2nd period. Senior Nazire Smith hauled in a 33-yard pass from senior quarterback Javius Brooks. On the next play sophomore Masion Brooks grabbed a direct snap, blasted through the line and raced 34 yards for an East Bladen touchdown.

“That may have been the highlight of the night,” said East Bladen Coach Robby Priest of Masion’s touchdown. Masion’s brother, Javius, bulled into the end zone for the 2-point conversion that trimmed the lead to 28-8.

Montgomery threw his TD pass to stretch the lead to 35-8. But following an interception, the Bulldogs were backed up by a couple of penalties to their own 2 yard line. Eagle junior Jordan Mathis tackled Montgomery in the end zone for a safety that whittled the lead to 35-10.

Nazire Smith returned the ensuing free kick 25 yards to the Bulldog 43 then darted 31 yards with a swing pass through several Wallace tacklers to the Bulldog 10 yard line. Senior Sherman Monroe scooped up a teammate’s fumble and dashed 9 yards, and on 4th down, Masion Brooks banged through the line from a yard out for the touchdown that sliced the lead to 35-16 at halftime.

Bulldog quarterback Xzavier Pearsall hurled a 41-yard pass that set up Daylen Wilson’s 2-yard touchdown run in the 3rd period. After an Eagle fumble, Pearsall connected with Roberts on a 33-yard touchdown pass. Farrior’s 52-yard TD run upped the count to 55-16. Junior Tamarion Bellamy returned an East fumble 52 yards for the final Wallace touchdown.

Masion Brooks carried 7 times for 54 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Eagle runners. Monroe rushed 14 times for 51 yards. Javius Brooks completed 5 of 9 passes for 82 yards. Nazire Smith had 4 receptions for 80 yards.

“Javius to Nazire was one of the highlights for us tonight,” said Priest. “Javius did a good job for us at quarterback and threw the ball well. We don’t have a lot of bodies right now, but you play with what you got. We have got to get in better shape.”

The Eagles were without quarterback Raymond Autry and running back Tim McLean who were out with injuries.

The Bulldogs held a 371-194 edge in total yards due to a 258-112 advantage in rushing yards. Three lost fumbles and 2 pass interceptions hampered the East Bladen attack.

The Eagles will host South Columbus Friday at 7 p.m.
