This year will mark the 41st annual White Lake Water Festival for Bladen County since it began in 1979. The festival will last for three days, starting on the 17th at 11 a.m. The 3rd Annual Rotary International Cup Captain’s Choice Golf Tournament will begin Friday at Vineyard Golf at White Lake. The Classic Car Cruise-In and a Street Dance will start on the same day at 6 p.m. at Goldston’s Beach.
The Water Festival will continue on Saturday 18th with a Classic Car Show at the Lake Church & Retreat Center parking area. Registration for the contest will begin at 8 a.m. and will end at noon. The judging will start at noon and end at 2 p.m. with the winners getting their awards.

The White Lake Water Festival parade will begin at 10 a.m. and move north along White Lake Drive. Crafts and vendors will be at Goldston’s Beach along with activities for kids, wrestling, face painting, and Gold Medal BMX Stunt Show after the parade. There will even be Barbecued Pork and Fried Chicken Plates at the White Lake Fire Department for $8 dollars a plate. The fire department’s annual fundraiser will begin at 11 a.m. and will last until 2 p.m.
The Southern Touch Band will be performing from 12 p.m. Noon to 2 p.m. The Pink Slips will pick up an hour later at 3 p.m. and will perform until 5 p.m. Later, at 9 p.m., Spare Change will be featured at the Water Festival Dance at Goldston’s Beach. Admission is free to everyone that attends. No coolers will be allowed at the event.
