Sophmore Hannah Devane and junior Justyna Garala scored two goals each to lead East Bladen’s Lady Eagles to a 5-0 non-conference girls soccer victory over visiting East Columbus Wednesday.

Gargala fired in the first Lady Eagle goal in the 20th minute of play. Devane found the back of the net with the next two East Bladen goals.

Gargala booted in her second goal to push the East Bladen lead to 4-0. Junior Cassie Hill closed out the Lady Eagle scoring with a goal 5 minutes before halftime.

Devane also dished out two assists for the Lady Eagles. Senior goalie Kathryn Cole posted a shutout but didn’t have to make a save.

“We played really well and seemed to get a really good understanding of our positions and how we want to play,” said East Bladen Coach Jay Raynor. “In the second half we chose to move the ball around and get others involved versus going to the goal.”

“East Columbus worked hard but just weren’t as experienced as we are,” noted Coach Raynor. “The girls took it upon themselves to get everyone involved and not just to go try and score.”

The Lady Eagles improve to 2-0 on the season and will host North Brunswick Friday at 4:30.
