ELIZABETHTOWN – For the 3rd time in 4 matches, East Bladen’s Eagles placed 3rd in their Waccamaw Conference golf match Monday behind first-place Whiteville and 2nd place South Columbus.

Whiteville’s 344 total Monday was 30 strokes better than South Columbus’ 374. East Bladen posted a 409 total followed by West Columbus (428) and West Columbus (433). Heide Trask only had 3 golfers competing and did not qualify for the team competition.

Wolfpack golfer Colby Hooks fired a 79 to capture medalist honors for the 3rd time this season. Teammate Price Wheatley took 2nd place with an 86, and Mark Rich carded an 89 for the Wolfpack. East Columbus’ Caden Carroll and Whiteville’s Teddy Kurtyka were next with identical 90s.

East Bladen’s Connor Smith tied a pair of South Columbus golfers -Ayden Beck and Logan Hamilton – for 6th place with a 91. Other Eagle golfers competing included: Zac Metz (103), Peyton Tatum (104) and Henry Simmons (111).

Next week’s Waccamaw golf match will be played at Diamondback Golf Club in Loris, SC.
