LUMBER BRIDGE – West Bladen’s Knights captured 2nd place in the team competition, and Knight senior Daniel Gustafson finished in a 4-way tie for 2nd place in the medalist competition at the Southeastern Athletic Conference golf match at Scothurst Golf Club Monday.
Gustafson carded an 80 to tie a trio of Midway golfers – Kaison Marley, Jonathan Stephenson and Connor Jackson- for 2nd place just 2 strokes behind medalist Dakota Bedard of Midway who fired a 78. Clinton’s Finn Howard (81) and Brock Sumner (85) finished in 6th and 7th places.
Knight freshman Seth Faircloth and junior Nolan Sessoms tied Fairmont’s Christian Britt for 8th place with identical 86’s. West Bladen’s Chason Harris shot an 88 to finish in 12th place.
Midway captured totaled 318 to take the team title. West Bladen was in 2nd place with a 340 total followed by Clinton (355) and Fairmont (385). St. Pauls’ placed 5th followed by Red Springs.
