WHITEVILLE – West Bladen’s Haley George and East Bladen’s A. J. Smith posted top four finishes Monday in the Three Rivers Conference cross country championship meet.

George, a freshman, posted a time of 27 minutes, 39.77 seconds to take third place in the girls meet behind Red Springs senior Keira Bryant (26:06.80) and Whiteville sophomore Fatima Reyes (26:43.01).

Smith, a sophomore, was clocked in 21 minutes, 40.66 seconds to claim fourth place in the boys meet behind St. Pauls Tristan Lupo (19:27.32), and Whiteville’s Jalen McMillian (20:16.22) and Brandon Nguyen (20:29.79).

Other Bladen County finishers in the girls meet included East Bladen’s Erica McKoy (13th place, 36:46.21) and Vena Metz (18th place, 41:28.85)

Other East Bladen boys runners were: senior Aaron Todd (14th place, 24:54.25), junior Efren Vargas (16th place, 25:12.74), sophomore Damondta Smith (21st place, 26:25.0), and sophomore Antonio Ferguson (28th place, 29:30.51).

In the team competition, East Bladen placed third in the boys meet behind Whiteville and St. Pauls.

The Class 2A MidEast Regionals will be held at Wake Med Soccer Complex on Saturday, October 27th at 9:15 a.m.
