TAR HEEL –Hallsboro swept both ends of a Waccamaw Middle School softball double-header with Tar Heel Thursday by scores of 14-1 and 17-7.
The Lady Tigers scored 8 runs in the opening inning of the opener and tacked on five more runs in the third.
Brooke Priest batted 2-2 to lead the Tar Heel hitters. Kaitlyn Brisson belted a single to centerfield and raced home with the Lady Panther run when Violet Allen drilled a triple to centerfield.
In the nightcap Hallsboro racked up ten runs in the opening inning, but Tar Heel answered with six runs in the second inning. Kennedy Carroll belted two hits, and Priest, Kaitlyn Brisson and Katelynn Robinson all singled and scored. Allen walked and scored. Gracie Faircloth knocked in 2 runs with a double to rightfield.
Faircloth pitched both games for the Lady Panthers who will host Bladenboro Monday.
