ROCKY POINT – East Bladen built an early 8-0 lead enroute to an 11-6 Waccamaw Conference jayvee baseball victory over Heide Trask Tuesday.

Coach James Ben Daly’s Eagles improved to 4-0-1 in Waccamaw Conference play and 5-1-2 overall. The Eagles will meet the Titans again at East Bladen Friday. Trask is now 0-5 in league play and 1-6 overall.

Easton Bostic pitched 2.2 innings to pick up the win for East allowing 3 unearned runs on 2 hits and 5 walks while striking out 3. Zach Sholar worked 1.1 innings of relief and gave up 3 runs – 1 earned – on a hit and 3 walks while striking out 2.

Torrean Cogdell walked and raced home as Isaiah Lee reached on an error in the 1st inning. Tyler Eason and Jaxon Hair drew walks, and Lee and Eason both scored on an error. Bostic reached base on another Titan error that scored Hair and pushed the Eagle lead to 4-0.

Sholar smoked a single through the middle to start the East 2nd inning. Cogdell walked and both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Colton Daly and Lee launched sacrifice flies that scored Sholar and Cogdell and padded the Eagle lead to 6-0.

Hair spanked a single to left to begin the East 3rd inning but was retired on Bostic’s fielder’s choice. JaDarius McArthur walked, and Sholar reached base on an error that scored Rex Register, the courtesy runner for Bostic. McArthur dashed home on a wild pitch to stretch the lead to 8-0.

Four walks, an error and a wild pitch led to a trio of Titan runs in the home 3rd, but the Eagles answered with 3 runs in the 4th for an 11-3 lead. Daly walked, and Lee ripped a single to center field. Daly dashed home on a passed ball, Hair walked and Eason laid down a sacrifice bunt that scored Lee. Bostic knocked in Hair with a single.

Sholar, Lee, Hair and Bostic cracked 1 single each. Bostic, Lee and Daly drove in runs. Cogdell, Lee and Hair scored 2 runs each. McArthur, Register, Eason, Daly and Sholar scored 1 run each.
