DUNN – Junior Jordyn Christopher and freshman Kyleigh Stonerock combined on a 1-hitter, and Midway’s offense connected for 15 hits as the Lady Raiders defeated West Bladen 15-0 in Southeastern Athletic Conference softball action Tuesday night.

West Bladen, now 1-1 in SAC play and 1-4 overall, will visit Clinton Wednesday night. Midway improved to 3-0 in league play and 7-2 overall and will travel to Wilmington Hoggard Wednesday night.

Lady Knight senior Gracie Faircloth ripped a single through the middle to start the game and reached 2nd base on sophomore Kali Allen’s sacrifice bunt, but a double play ended the inning.

Christopher struck out 3 in her 3 innings in the circle, and Stonerock worked a 1-2-3 4th with 3 strikeouts. At the plate Christopher was 3-for-3 with 2 runs batted in and a run scored.

Senior McKenzie Williams batted 2-for-2 with a triple, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Junior Kiley Ives was 2-for-2 with an RBI and 2 runs scored, and freshman Macy Raynor batted 2-for-2 with a triple, an RBI and 2 runs scored.

Junior Marlene Crabtree pitched 2 innings for the Lady Knights and allowed 9 runs – 5 earned – on 8 hits and 3 walks while striking out 1. Faircloth worked 1.2 innings of relief and allowed 6 runs – 4 earned – on 7 hits while striking out 1.
