ELIZABETHTOWN – Holden Clark hammered a 2-run double to key a 5-run, third-inning rally that propelled East Bladen to a 7-3 Four County Conference jayvee baseball victory over Wallace-Rose Hill Friday.

Wallace-Rose Hill scored a pair of first inning runs before East Bladen answered with a run in the second inning. Sophmore Eric Chancy walked, moved up on freshman Jake Evans’ sacrifice bunt and scored on Davis Alsup’s fielder’s choice.

Sophmore Josh McKoy led off the Eagle third inning with a single and advanced on Gabe Barber’s sacrifice bunt. Freshman Jordan Robinson smacked a single to drive in McKoy with the tying run.

Sophmore Spencer Scott laced a single, before Clark smashed the double that scored Robinson and Scott and put the Eagles ahead 4-2. Evans drew a walk, and Clark and Evans both raced home on passed balls for a 6-2 lead.

Barber drew a one-out walk in the fourth inning and eventually scored on an error to pad the lead to 7-2 as Scott reached base.

The Bulldogs scored their final run in the fifth inning.

Scott batted 2-3 to lead the Eagle hitters. Clark slammed the 2-run double. Barber, Robinson and McKoy connected for one hit each. Robinson and Alsup drove in one run each. Barber, Robinson, Scott, Clark, Chancy, Evans and McKoy scored one run each.

Clark started on the mound and pitched the first 2.1 innings for the Eagles. The righthander struck out 4, walked 5, hit a batter and allowed 2 runs and 2 hits. McKoy relieved and worked the final 2.2 innings to pick up the win. The sophmore righthander struck out 5, walked 2 and allowed a run and one hit.

Coach Ritchie Priest’s jayvees raised their record to 10-1 in league play and 12-2 overall. The Eagles will travel to Union Tuesday.
