ELIZABETHTOWN – Sophmore Haven Williams pitched a 2-hitter and struck out five to lead Wallace-Rose Hill to an 11-0 Four County Conference softball victory on Senior Night Friday over East Bladen.

Junior Kaley Smith ripped a single off the pitcher’s glove in the first inning, and junior Faith Johnson lined a single to left in the third inning for the Lady Eagle hits.

The best East Bladen scoring chances came in the second and third innings. Freshmen Izzy Smith and Abby Cross drew walks to begin the second inning, but a double play ended that threat.

With one-out in the third inning, freshman Johanna Parker and pitcher Kaley Smith sandwiched walks around the Johnson single in the third inning to load the bases. However a force-out at the plate and a ground-out ended the inning.

Catcher Ella Smith batted 3-4 with a double to lead the Lady Bulldog hitters. Williams, Tori Mobley, Aleaah Graham, Bailey Grace Bradshaw and Angel Pearsall all connected for 2 hits each. Senior Haley Rivenbark slugged a 2-run home run in the second inning.

“The highlight for us was getting to play Emily (Scott) at second base in the last inning,” said East Bladen Coach Patty Evers. “That was her old position but we have needed her to catch the last two seasons. It was a surprise. She didn’t know we were going to do that.”

Scott was the only East Bladen senior as the team celebrated Senior Night. East Bladen will host Pender Monday in a make-up game at 4:30.
