FAIRMONT – Jacob Nixon poured in 21 points to lead East Bladen to a 33-25 Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over Fairmont Friday.
Malaki Monroe buried a 3-point shot and Nixon threw in a basket for the Eagles in the opening quarter. Nixon sank 3 free throws and a basket in the 2nd period, and Cam White pumped in a basket to keep East within 15-12 at halftime.
Nixon fired in a pair of 3-point bombs and another basket in the 3rd quarter, and center Rodney Lacewell muscled in a basket as the Eagles took a 22-19 lead.
In the final period, Nixon converted 4 straight free throws and tossed in another basket. Lee Barnes buried a 3-point shot, and Lacewell dropped in another basket as the Eagles pulled away.
Coach Aking Elting’s Eagles raised their league record to 3-1 and their overall mark to 5-2. East Bladen will host St. Pauls Tuesday.
