BLADENBORO – Tykeem Oxendine threw in 16 points, and Jamir Marzett added 10 to lead St Pauls to a 42-32 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys’ basketball victory over West Bladen Tuesday night.

Marzett nailed a 3-ball, and Jakki Purcell dropped in 6 of his 8 points as the Bulldogs built a 13-5 1st period lead. Elijah McCollum buried a 3-ball, and Donovon Tubbs netted a basket for West in the opening quarter.

Conner Monroe, Tyleak Ballard and Cade Allen sank 2 free throws each in the 2nd quarter, and Noah Hall hit one as the Knights pulled to within 19-12 at halftime.

Monroe lit up the scoreboard with a trio of Knight baskets in the 3rd period, and center Tyleak Ballard muscled in a basket and a free throw. Gavin Elks drained a 3-point shot to keep West within 33-24 at the break.

Elks fired in another 3-ball then pumped in another basket in the final quarter. Monroe tossed in a basket, and Hall added a free throw. Monroe topped the Knight scoring with 10 points, and Elks was right behind him with 8 points. Ballard finished with 5 points.

The Knights, now 4-7 in the SAC-7 and 6-12 overall, will travel to Midway Friday night, while St. Pauls will host East Bladen Friday night.
