WILMINGTON – Wilmington Hoggard defeated West Bladen 63-16 Thursday in a non-conference jayvee boys’ basketball game.
Lukas Batchelor topped the Viking scoring with 15 points, and Mathias Sonne followed with 14 points. Teammate Mercer Godier netted 9 points.
Sayvion Covington buried a pair of 3-point shots and another basket to lead the Knights with 8 points. Damarion Bryant and Keonta Hill tossed in 2 baskets each to finish with 4 points each.
JaQuan Lesane dished out 3 assists and had 3 steals for West. Teammate Jamari Adams grabbed 8 rebounds and collected 4 steals.
West Bladen, now 0-3, will visit East Bladen Tuesday night, while Hoggard will travel to Jacksonville Wednesday.
