ST PAULS – St. Pauls scored a touchdown and a 2-point conversion in overtime Thursday night to defeat West Bladen 22-14 in Three Rivers Conference junior varsity football action.

Quarterback Devon Strange powered into the end zone from a yard out on the quarterback sneak to give the Knights an early 6-0 lead.

St. Pauls rallied and took a 14-6 lead, before West Bladen answered with 4:30 left in the game. The Knights recovered their own fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. Strange then tossed a 2-point conversion pass to Ke’shawn Ballard to tie the game 14-14.

Freshman fullback Lance Soumanoro led the Knight offense by rushing for 40 yards. Teammate Javonta Matthews ran for 20 yards in the game. Ballard finished with 45 yards receiving, and Tyee Jenkins had a 50-yard interception return for the Knights.
