FAIRMONT – Sierra Strickland sank two free throws in overtime that sealed a 30-28 Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball victory for East Bladen over Fairmont Monday.
A basket from Lavada Jackson gave the Lady Eagles the early lead in overtime, before Strickland nailed both of her foul shots.
Aaniyah Jackson topped the Lady Eagle scoring with 11 points, and Strickland followed with 8 points. Lavada Jackson finished with 6 points.
Aaniyah Jackson canned 3 free throws and added a basket, and Strickland tossed in 2 baskets as the Lady Eagles built a 13-8 first quarter lead.
In the second quarter, Aaniyah Jackson popped in 2 baskets and a free throw, and Strickland and Lavada Jackson pumped in baskets as the East lead grew to 23-11 at halftime.
Fairmont outscored the Lady Eagles 15-3 in the second half to tie the game 26-26 and force the overtime period.
