ELIZABETHTOWN – East Columbus scored a 2nd half goal and edged East Bladen 1-0 Tuesday in a Waccamaw Conference jayvee girls soccer game.

“Our girls played hard and had a lot of fun,” said East Bladen Coach Jay Raynor. “It was the first time for a majority of our crowd.”

Raynor added, “Lexi Ventura, Katie Baza, and Annika Bass did great for our girls. They have the most experience and it showed. They played hard and were great teammates helping the others work through their first game.”

“Jaziyeah Daniel’s did great in goal,” said Raynor. “She hasn’t played there and stepped up and did a great job. Janice (Alvarez-Nunez), Alexa (Sanchez) and Ariana (Rojo-Diaz) played well together for us in the back. They made several plays to turn them away from scoring.”
