East Bladen High SchoolELIZABETHTOWN – Clinton defeated East Bladen 2-0 Monday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action by game scores of 25-20 and 25-12.

Five service points from sophomore Abbie Cross staked the Lady Eagles to a 7-2 lead in the first game. Service points from freshmen Alyssa Futrell and Cheylee Mathis kept the East lead at 12-8.

Clinton rallied to take a 16-14 lead, but a pair of service points from Cross vaulted East ahead 17-16. The Lady Dark Horses then rode a 9-3 spurt to take the game.

A run of ten straight service points gave Clinton a 14-2 lead early in the second game. Two service points from Futrell and one each by freshman Kayleigh Raynor, Cross, Mathis, Katie Evans and Sara Gargala were not enough to catch the visitors early lead.

Cross led East Bladen with 8 service points and 3 kills. Futrell, Mathis and Raynor finished with 2 service points each. Evans and Gargala had one service point each. Raynor knocked in 2 kills, and sophmore Gracyn Martin added one kill.
