BLADENBORO – West Bladen defeated East Bladen 2-0 Thursday in the Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee volleyball opener for both teams by set scores of 25-15 and 25-18.
Freshman Marlene Crabtree fired in 5 aces, 8 service points and 5 kills for the Lady Knights. Maddie Walters lit up the scoreboard with 7 service points, 2 kills, 2 aces and had 6 assists and a dig. Kylie Durden filled up the stat sheet with 5 kills, 4 assists, 2 aces and a service point.
Karly Ross drilled in 3 aces and 3 service points for West Bladen. Kaitlyn Brisson pounded in a kill and a service point, and Harmony Jacobs knocked in a kill.
Coach Kaitlyn Sykes’ Lady Knights improved to 3-1 on the season and will visit Fairmont Tuesday. The Lady Eagles are scheduled to go to South Columbus Tuesday.
