ALEXANDRIA, La. — Clarkton native Kayla Thompson made the cut at the Coke-Dr. Pepper Open and is tied for 33rd after two rounds.

Thompson shot 75-73=148 in the first two rounds played at Oakwing Golf Club and The Links on the Bayou. The third round is scheduled Friday and the final round Saturday.

Thompson graduated from West Bladen High School and UNC Wilmington.

Maddie McCrary of Wylie, Texas, leads after shooting back-to-back 67s and has a four-shot lead over Jessica Porvasnik of Hinckley, Ohio, going into Friday’s third round.

The tournament winner will receive $7,500 and an exemption into the Windsor Classic on the Symetra Tour later this year.
