East Bladen grad and current North Carolina State defensive tackle Larrell Murchison tweeted his acceptance Wednesday of an offer to play in the 2020 Reese’s Senior Bowl on January 25 in Mobile, Alabama.

Murchison tweeted, “Very thankful for my invitation to the senior bowl. Grateful and honored to accept my invite.”

The Elizabethtown native has made 38 tackles – 20 solo – in nine games as the Wolfpack have compiled a 4-5 record. Murchison has been credited with 10 tackles for loss that have totaled 48 yards in losses and has recorded seven sacks for a total of 40 yards in losses, including 3.5 sacks against Florida State.

The Senior Bowl bills itself as football’s premier senior showcase event. It annually features the country’s best senior collegiate football players and top National Football League draft prospects on teams representing the North and the South that are coached by the entire coaching staffs of two NFL teams.

In 2019, ten of the Senior Bowl players were first round picks in the NFL draft, and 93 of the 2019 Senior Bowl players were drafted in the NFL draft.
