HALLSBORO – Cade Allen pitched a one-hitter and struck out 5 batters to lead Bladenboro to an 11-1 Waccamaw Middle School baseball victory over Hallsboro Tuesday.

Allen walked one batter, allowed a 7th-inning double and allowed a 1st inning run when the Tigers’ Charles Waddell was hit by a pitch and came around to score.

Hezekiah Adams reached base on an error to begin the Bulldog 3rd inning. Andre Moore slapped a single to left, and Steven Matheson and Gavin Elks cracked 2-out singles as Adams and Moore scored to edge Bladenboro ahead 2-1.

Jonah Bryan, Will Durden, Adams, Moore and Luke Howell drew walks in the Bulldog 4th inning, and Bryan, Durden and Adams came around to score as the lead grew to 5-1.

Adams, Moore, Howell and Colin Britt all walked in the Bladenboro 6th inning and Adams and Moore scored runs to pad the margin to 7-1.

Aiden Russ led off the Bulldog 7th with a single, Durden reached base, and Adams belted a single. Moore drew a walk, and Russ, Durden and Adams scored runs, before Allen poled a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Moore with the final Bladenboro run.

Moore batted 2-2 with 3 runs scored to lead the Bladenboro hitters. Adams, Matheson, Elks and Russ connected for one hit each. Adams scored 4 runs, Durden scored twice, and Bryan and Russ scored one run each.

Coach Tim Benton’s Bulldogs will host Tabor City Tuesday.
